For many years, there was support for an organization that would allow Future Homemakers of America (FHA/HERO) and Family, Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members to stay involved after high school graduation. After much work by many dedicated individuals, that dream became a reality July 17, 1998. It was on that day that the Oklahoma Future Homemakers of America Alumni & Associates was incorporated by the State of Oklahoma. The organization became Oklahoma Alumni & Associates of FHA, HERO & FCCLA, Inc. (OAA) after the Oklahoma Association of FHA/HERO became FCCLA. Since current alumni are former FHA/HERO and FCCLA members, our name indicates both groups. This page gives a brief overview of the organization. We hope you like what you see and will want to join.
The purposes for which our organization was founded are:
To support, promote, and serve Family, Career & Community Leaders of America and Family and Consumer Sciences Education at the local, state, and national levels
To unite former FHA, HERO & FCCLA members and others interested in promoting a strong bond between the community and FCCLA
To act as a resource bank to lend services to local chapters and the state association toward the development of youth leadership and improvement of personal, family, and community life
To raise the visibility and promotion of FCCLA and Family and Consumer Sciences Education
To promote the eight purposes of FCCLA
To cooperate with the Oklahoma Association of Family, Career & Community Leaders of America and the national association.
